Members of the Diabetes Digital Coach team were in Manchester in September for the NHS Health & Care Innovation Expo 2017, and had an excellent time meeting members of the public and healthcare professionals.
There was a lot of interest in the Coach and in the NHS Test Beds in general. NHS England's Chief Executive, Simon Stevens highlighted the importance of Test Beds in his keynote speech, announcing that the programme will be funded for a further two years. Read more here.
Digital innovations for the management of long term conditions
Project lead for the Diabetes Digital Coach, Elizabeth Dymond, and Public Contributor, Sandra Tweddell gave a popular a talk on the NHS Digital Stand to provide an update on our platform, as well as exploring the potential this offers for supporting people living with a wide range of other long term conditions.
Collaborating whilst competing
And some of the SMEs involved in Test Beds around the project, including our own Tom Dawson from Rescon, took part in a special pop up university session, reflecting on the challenges and opportunities faced by healthcare innovators. Delegates got to hear first hand experience of how industry partners are working together through the Test Beds to offer patients and citizens improved care and improved experience of care. They shared learning about collaboration and competition as part of a very lively question and answer session.
